The Nuthatch Solar and Highland Energy Storage Projects recently donated $17,000 to the Bright Local School District. This money will go toward two projects that will directly benefit students: a library furniture refresh for Bright Elementary and Whiteoak Jr./Sr. High School, and an outdoor scoreboard for the district’s baseball, softball and soccer complex.

Both projects are being developed by DESRI in Highland County.

“Nuthatch is pleased to support the Bright Local School District and the students of Highland County,” said Aaron Svedlow, executive director of Development at DESRI. “We are looking forward to continuing to engage and grow our relationships in the community as development of our project progresses.”

DESRI previously developed the Highland 1 Solar Project in Highland County. It has been operational since 2024, and will generate a total of $108 million in revenue for the community.

Nuthatch Solar and Highland Energy Storage are currently under development and will be connected to the same infrastructure as Highland 1.
